The design of the MilkBasket1 uses the same techniques as in the way MilkFlower was made, a big lampshade. The basket has a center piece, the actual flower/plant pouch, which is surrounded by a sort of flower shape turning it into a very friendly Snapdragon like shape. The wall version, not shown here, only has the basket surrounded on three sides so one side can be mounted to the wall. The system for suspending the basket is still in development, but it could be done in the way as shown. This design is also made out of leftovers from producing other upcycle lampshades. The dimensions of the MilkBasket1 are: width 36 cm, height 23 cm.
The design was commissioned by Connex Innovations as part of DUDOC Vancouver, Centre for Dutch Design and Urban Development. Dudoc is a platform for sustainable Dutch companies to promote their business cases for sustainable development.
